A NEW joint partnership has been launched between Care South and Medvivo Careline to offer respite and reablement support for individuals in need living in their own homes in Dorset.

Care South was delighted to attend a launch event at Medvivo Careline’s offices in Dorchester this month to celebrate the launch of the new partnership.

Care South and Medvivo Careline will be offering respite and reablement support packages for individuals living in their own homes across Dorset who need access to professional care, perhaps following a short stay in hospital or to provide a break for full-time carers.

Users of the service are provided with a technology package supplied by Medvivo Careline and professionals from Care South’s home care team provide scheduled daily home visits to ensure vulnerable individuals are supported within their own homes. Medvivo Careline support these visits with daily reassurance phone calls.

Carolyn Collins, director of domiciliary care at Care South, said: “The new service we are launching with Medvivo Careline across Dorset is targeted at vulnerable individuals, many of whom may not have a large support network of family or friends living locally. The aim of this partnership is to provide short-term support for individuals to help them return home after a hospital visit, or to offer respite for carers in a crisis or pre-arranged situation.

“Our services can negate the need for lengthy hospital stays, speeding up discharges and preventing re-admissions, as well as providing practical personalised support to help individuals in their homes.”

Emma Jones, business development and relationship manager at Medvivo Careline, added: “The packages we have developed in partnership with Care South provide an integrated technology enabled care solution by combining remote monitoring with on-the-ground home visits from trained care professionals. Packages are tailored to meet individuals’ needs, offering reassurance to ensure our service users are supported and can continue to live independently within their own homes for as long as possible.”
