A MAN has died following a collision on the A354.
A police spokesman said a green Toyota Corolla was in a low speed collision with a white VW Caddy near the roundabout by Dorchester Football Club.
The spokesman said the Corolla driver, a 68-year-old Portland man, was taken ill at the wheel of his car prior to the collision and was rushed to Dorset County Hospital by ambulance but died shortly after.
The spokesman said the collision caused considerable disruption and that the other vehicle was being driven by a Weymouth man.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any other information should contact PC Gareth Blaken of the Dorchester road policing unit on 01305 222222.
The spokesman said the thoughts of the police are with the Portland man's family.
