CREATIVE Dorset, an agency aimed at boosting the creative industries of Dorset, was successfully launched earlier this year.

This month the agency is holding four Creative Teas to continue the initiative's work - and help those who find it difficult to function early in the morning!

The free teas take place in Weymouth, Wareham, Christchurch and Dorchester and are open, subject to availability, to any creative industry based in Dorset. Creative industries are defined as being based on individual creativity, skill and talent or those that create wealth and jobs through developing intellectual property. Creative Dorset is led by Dominic Tambling, who said: "The response to the Creative Breakfasts was amazingly positive and dynamic.

"The events were completely full and surprisingly animated for so early in the morning.

"People attending made excellent use of the time and the opportunities and we hope that the Creative Teas will be even more useful, especially for people who work better in the afternoon.

"Anyone who feels guilty about eating a cream tea can feel virtuous about how healthy it could be for their business!"

More than 140 people attended the Creative Breakfasts, which took place in Blandford, Bridport, Sherborne and Poole.

People attending came from all over the county and from every creative industry including advertising, film and video, architecture, music, art, pottery, publishing, performing arts, computer and video games, crafts, software, design, television, radio and fashion.

The tea dates are Wednesday, July 11, at Weymouth Pavilion, Monday, July 16, at The Blue Pool Tea House, Wareham, Wednesday, July 18, at The Boathouse Restaurant on the Quay at Christchurch and Thursday, July 19, at the Enterprise Connection, Poundbury, Dorchester.
