FROM Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th, Year 6 pupils from across Weymouth and Portland, joined together as a team at Primary College.

Primary College takes place towards the end of the school year and happens at the Weymouth College.

It is a chance for the Year 6 pupils from various schools to meet each other ready for the next five years at their secondary schools.

We were interested in what the other pupils were up to, so we went to find out more about the other subjects that were going on.

We interviewed an instructor and two of his pupils in the motor ike maintenance class. First, we spoke to the instructor, John Simpson (CAE, AMIMI).

We asked him, what he aimed to teach his pupils in these workshops. He replied, "I aim for my pupils to learn a basic knowledge of a motor vehicles."

We then asked if he thought the pupils enjoyed working in his workshops.

His reply was, "Yes, I reckon they love it!"

Later, we spoke to a couple of Mr Simpson's pupils, James McQuillan and Richard Tampin-Copp, both from St Nicholas and St Laurence Primary School.

We first asked Richard, if he had enjoyed the work that he had done so far on the motorbike.

"Yes," he answered, "It has been very fun but the adults have done too much talking!"

We then asked James if he would like to be involved in a career including motorbike engineering.

"Yes I would," he said "because I would like to be a mechanic."
