ARTHUR George Stibbs sailed to his christening at Holy Trinity Church in Weymouth on the yacht Excalibur, almost a year to the day since his parents were married in similar fashion.
Last July, Kevin and Kay Stibbs of Weymouth sailed from Castle Cove Sailing Club, up Weymouth harbour to be married at Holy Trinity Church.
Young Arthur's christening was followed by a champagne reception on board his parents' yacht followed by a return journey to Castle Cove for another reception "Following our four-week honeymoon in France on board Excalibur last year, we discovered we were bringing back an extra person, hence the name Arthur," explained Kay.
She added: "He was born on St George's Day, so the middle name of George was a must.
"Arthur had his first sail at two weeks old and has been competing in races ever since.
"He completed his first round the island race at the Isle of Wight at the age of eight weeks.
"Now he's 10 weeks old we are planning another three-week holiday on Excalibur at the end of July."
