SOME children from the Primary College week in Weymouth got to talk to the mayor and mayoress.
The reason they got to talk to the mayor was because they were doing a certain activity called Primary College Echo'.
The mayor was asked lots of questions and he gave subtle answers all the time he was here.
By Eloise Farmer Q. Do you enjoy being mayor?
A. Yes, very much. You get to meet lots of people and seeing lots of things that you wouldn't even know was in Weymouth.
Q. Do you get to meet celebrities?
A. Yesterday, we went to Buckingham Palace. We saw the Queen, Prince Charles, and Princess Camilla. We didn't get to say hello but we thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Q. How will you deal with helping the environment?
A. We want to use the River Wey to create electricity instead of burning coal. When we went to Lyme Regis, their Mayor showed us how they used the river in the centre of the town to create electricity. This made us decide that we should also do this to save our environment.
