The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is bringing three days of agricultural fun and entertainment to New Park, Brockenhurst this month.

What's it all about?

With livestock competitions, main ring attractions, International Show jumping, local produce and cooking demonstrations to name a few, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy from July 25 to 27.

The Theme for 2017 Show is ‘Best of British’ which will be celebrated in a variety of forms across the showground.

What can I look forward to?

Jamie Squibb will be returning to entertain visitors in the main ring with his exciting motocross stunt display.

Jamie, who rides a Kawasaki KXF450 and is a three times British Champion who has ridden all over the world, and his team will demonstrate their daredevil bike tricks both on the ground and in the air whilst jumping across a 60ft gap whilst 40ft in the air.

Visitors can watch them complete a variety of different stunts and jumps. They will be performing twice each day in the Rathbones East Ring.

Jamie is just one of a variety of main ring attractions entertaining the crowds in the main ring at the 2017 New Forest and Hampshire County Show, which will also host International Show jumping competitions, The Grand Parade of Livestock, Inter-Hunt Relay, Scurry Driving and the Pony Club Mounted Games.

Anything new for this year?

New attractions include free, interactive cooking workshops for children, polo demonstrations and the brand new Garden Tearoom located in the Flower and Gardening Show.

Also new for 2017 is the Bake and Cake baking competition, with classes available for men, women and children.

For the first time in the show's history, amateur bakers can enter their cakes, pastries, yeast cookery and preserves, which will be on display for visitors to see at the show.

Entries can be made via the show website and winners will be announced at the event on Tuesday, July 25.

Jenny Dolbear, Bake and Cake co-ordinator said: “We have been asked on many occasions in the past if there is a competition for the public and we are now able to offer the Bake and Cake, it is exciting to be involved with this new competition marquee.

"We hope the public take this opportunity to get involved with the show.”

Anything else?

There will be lots of educational activities across the showground with milking demonstrations in the Cattle Section, egg hatching in the Poultry Tent, vegetable planting in the discovery zone as well as the return of the ever popular Sheep Show.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets for the New Forest and Hampshire County Show are available to purchase online via the New Forest Show website.

Visitors will receive 15 per cent off all tickets purchased online before Tuesday, July 18.

Tickets purchased before July 18 cost £17.85 for adults, £17 for senior citizens and £6.30 for children. Children aged 0 to four years go free.

Tickets bought between July 18 and 27 get a 5 per cent discount.

What if I don't want to take the car?

A shuttle bus service will be running throughout the show between the showground and Brockenhurst train station which will be free for all advance ticket holders.
