A long serving reverend has retired from her role in the parish.

Reverend Anne Dunn officially stood down as associate priest of the Holy Trinity and St Nicholas Churches.

On Sunday, October 8 parishioners gathered to sing Eucharist in thanks to the reverend.

Canon Andrew Gough, vicar of Holy Trinity, preached on the sacred of priesthood and reflected on Revd Dunn’s thirty-year affiliation with Holy Trinity church.

During that time, she served in many roles, including a churchwarden before her ordination into the ministry in 2003.

He said: “Anne’s priestly ministry has been very important to her over the years and in that time she has developed many friendships and been able to get to know people from the local church, the community and beyond by her commitment to service.”

The church welcomed Revd Dunn’s family to the service where she was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the congregation.

The young people of the church also gave her a gift in recognition of her efforts of encouragement over the years.

Revd Dunn thanked everyone for their kindness and love.

After the Eucharist, cake and wine was served in the organ transept where individuals personally thanked the reverend for her ministry.
