A man who was arrested for brandishing a sword in public has been released without charge.
An investigation was launched after officers received a report of a man in Cow Lane, Swanage, swinging a sword around and acting in a threatening manner at around 11.30am on Saturday, September 23.
There were no reports of any injuries. Officers attended and carried out a search of the area for a sword, but no weapons were found.
Dorset Police arrested a 44-year-old man from Swanage on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.
He has now been released without charge.
