Three people have been injured in a two-car crash. 

Emergency services were called to the Crown roundabout in Bridport shortly after 10am today. 

The A35 Sea Road was closed southbound between the B3157 West Bay Road and the B3162 West Road while they dealt with the incident.

A blue Volkswagen Caddy and a silver Mercedes A Class were involved in the crash, according to Dorset Police.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were asked to attend an accident involving two vehicles, on the A35 Bridport Bypass near the Eype turning by Dorset Police at 10.19am.

“One crew from Bridport attended the scene and made the vehicle safe and assisted with first aid until South Western Ambulance Service arrived.

“The crew started to leave the scene at 10.56am.”

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said: "A call was received at 10.09am to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision.

"We attended with one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles."

They added three people were taken to Dorset County Hospital, all will minor injuries.

Recovery was requested for the vehicles.

The road has reopened.
