A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash with a car.
Emergency services were called at 7.36am to reports of the crash on the A354 Weymouth Way southbound.
Early reports suggested a number of vehicles were involved, but Dorset Police confirmed it was Honda Civic and a Yamaha motorcycle, both registered to local keepers.
Police officers, an ambulance, and a South-Western Ambulance Service rapid response vehicle rushed to the scene.
One man was taken to Dorset County Hospital to be treated for what were believed to be minor injuries.
The crashed caused delays in Weymouth with heavy traffic reported on the B3159 Dorchester Road and a slow approach on the northbound carriage way as cars slowed for the incident.
The road was cleared shortly after 8.30am.
