THIS collection of adorable dogs is hoped to win the hearts of people far and wide in efforts to raise money for a vital charity.

The Hive Beach Café have been working tirelessly over the past year to create its 2018 calender to raise funds for the Alzheimers Society.

Kate Newman, marketing manager at Hive Beach Company Ltd, said: "At the beginning of the year we decided we wanted to do a calendar and because we are such a dog-friendly establishment we thought that a dog calendar would be a good way to go.

"We released a Facebook ‘model call’ in May and had more than 900 applicants within the first few hours. We then had to sort our way through all the gorgeous images to choose some of our favourites, which was really difficult.

"We ended up putting it to a vote through Facebook where we created galleries of different categories and got our social media followers to help us vote which left us with 30 dogs to feature in our calendar - it turns out there was such a huge dog following we created our own ‘HiveDogsofInsta’ Instagram account.

"All the images for the calendar were taken between West Bexington and Burton Bradstock on the cliffs, beaches and boats as well as some at our headquarters on Manor Farm.

"It was no small feat, it turns out it wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be to get the dogs to obey our instructions, but overall we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome."

Kate added that the Alzheimers Society is something that is very close to the team's hearts are one of the directors has a mother who suffers from the disease.

The Hive Beach Café have therefore been fundraising for the society throughout the year, raising £1,015 in August at its annual summer party.

The company's target is to raise £5,000 by the end of the year through the calenders. So far £750 has been raised.

The calenders cost £10 and 100 per cent of the net profits raised will be given to the charity.
