IT'S time to make a splash!

Dorchester Lions Club will once again be hosting its annual Fun Swim as organisers confirm 2018 dates.

Next year marks the 35th year of the swim - previously called the Swimarathon

The event will be held again at the 1610 Dorchester Sports Centre on the afternoon of Saturday, February 3 and the morning of Sunday, February 4.

There will be various sessions over the two days in the main pool and the small pool - with an emphasis on fun and activities to suit all age groups and abilities.

In addition to the well-established timed sessions for teams and individuals in the main pool, there will be fun sessions in the small pool for Aqua-Glide and Aquafit as well as opportunities for parent and child and disabled groups to take part.

An added bonus this year will be the fun team challenge across an inflatable assault course in the main pool.

In previous years the Lions have chosen a certain charity to raise funds for but this year all participants have the chance to raise money for their own good causes.

A spokesman for the Dorchester Lions Club said: "The club is delighted to have use again of the magnificent facilities at the 1610 Dorchester Sports Centre for the Lions Fun Swim.

"Dorchester Lions want to thank the management and staff for their continued support, help and input to stage the event.

"Look out for your favourite Lion which will be on display in the reception of 1610 from December."
