Police have launched an appeal after a pensioner was injured in a hit and run.

The crash happened at around 10.45am on Wednesday, November 29 on Sackmore Lane in Marnhull and involved a pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, and a silver or grey car. It was reported that the car failed to stop at the scene.

The woman was initially able to make her way home but was later taken to hospital with injuries to her wrist and shoulder.

Police Constable Kate Schofield, of North Dorset Police, said: “We have made a number of enquiries into this incident, including house-to-house enquiries in the local area.

“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that might have covered the incident to contact police.”
