A dance group run by four mums from Maiden Newton is celebrating its fifth anniversary in January.

Fizzy Boppers is a high energy dance group for children aged between 0 – 5 years and their families, and run as a 'not for profit' Community Interest Company (CIC).

This means the admission price is invested back into the running costs of the group, which includes free refreshments and a variety of props designed to stimulate and educate the young children who attend the sessions.

There are sessions in Netherbury, Fordington, Maiden Newton and at the Dorchester Corn Exchange.

Kelly Critchell, one of the Fizzy Boppers team said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on our Fizzy Boppers journey since we first opened our doors on January 3, 2013 in Maiden Newton village hall. We were just four mums who wanted to set up a group that our own children could attend and never dreamed we would be asked to replicate the group at different locations and venues, such as our group help at Bridport Youth Centre. We have always tried hard to ensure we run at a price that is affordable for all with ‘pay as you go’ sessions to make us as family friendly as possible. We also try to do fundraising throughout the year for a variety of charities and are thankful to everyone that recently donated to our raffle for ‘Fundraising for Sian’. We are truly very grateful for everyone that has attended our sessions and told their friends and families about us by sharing our Facebook page or website details, we could not have made our five year anniversary without your incredible support.”
