THEY may have been touring together for a decade, but Anton du Beke and Erin Boag’s annual show at Bournemouth Pavilion just never gets old.

This year entitled Broadway to Hollywood, the production celebrates the golden age of the movies and commemorates a decade of dance for the popular pair.

Accompanied by the London Concert Orchestra, six super-energetic back-up dancers and the beautifully rich tones of Strictly singer Lance Ellington, the evening was a wonderfully varied performance.

There were modern pieces - including a routine to Rihanna’s Umbrella – some musical medleys inspired by Chicago and South Pacific, and a bit of tap dancing.

Anton and Erin showed they can both hold a note too, but could not compare to Ellington, who was just born to belt out those big numbers, such as New York, New York, Cry Me A River and Mr Bojangles.

There is something about timeless ballroom numbers to classic tunes that encapsulate all the magic of old-school Hollywood. And it’s what the nation’s favourite ballroom couple do best.

That, and spill Strictly secrets in the question and answer session – Anton clearly loves talking about himself almost as much as the dancing!

A few old favourites snuck in during the show, to celebrate the couple’s best moments from the last ten years, but these were interspersed with beautiful new choreography and stunning costumes, making for yet another triumph for the pair.

I’m already looking forward to next year.
