The cardiology team at Dorset County Hospital are delighted to launch their newly refurbished cardiac catheter lab.
This means the hospital now has two high specification catheter labs and can offer reduced waiting times for patients who need heart tests and treatments such as cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty and pacemaker implants.
Cardiology Lead Nurse Jodie Crabb said: “We now have both units running with the very latest equipment fitted, providing a first-class, friendly and comfortable environment for our patients and staff.”
“We are really pleased to now have two cardiac catheter labs with such excellent facilities in each.”
The department has the facilities to provide emergency treatment for patients suffering heart attacks, those who require diagnostic angiograms, coronary stenting (percutaneous coronary intervention, PCI) and pacemaker implants.
