The west cost of Dorset is on flood alert.

A flood warning has been issued for Lyme Regis Harbour and West Bay Harbour with the whole west coast of Dorset on 'flood alert'.

This warning is in place for Lyme Regis with tides at their highest between 5am and 7.30am tomorrow morning, Tuesday, February 13.

The warning reads: "Large waves, spray and strong winds are forecast so take care near coastal paths and promenades.

"Flooding may affect properties and low lying areas and roads.

"The forecast wind direction is southerly and the forecast wind strength is Force 8.

"Coastal conditions should ease for afternoon tide."

In West Bay flooding is expected between Park Dean Campsite and West Bay Road. The Environment Agency staff have checked defences in the area and are continuing to monitor the situation closely.
