Due to a fault with the electric third rail between Branksome and Poole the Weymouth bound line is blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until approximately 4pm.

South Western Railway have received reports of a loss of power from the 'third rail' between Branksome and Poole which supplies the electricity to trains. This is affecting the line towards Weymouth, and at present no trains can run between Bournemouth and Poole.

Network Rail engineers were made aware and are on site to ascertain the reason behind the failure and get the line back to working order.

Trains may be terminated/started short at either Poole or Bournemouth.

A replacement bus shuttle service is being run between Bournemouth and Poole in both directions, and a train shuttle service between Weymouth and Poole in both directions.

For more information speak to a member of station staff, or use a station help point.

UPDATE - the lines are now clear.
