Beautiful surrounding scenery, buzzing bars and restaurants and home to a certain hat-tastic festival – is it any surprise this bustling market town has been listed amongst the best places to live in Britain?

Bridport has made The Sunday Times list of Best Places to Live in Britain – again.

The accolade comes ahead of the full reveal of the guide, to be published on Sunday. (18)

Judges assessed a wide range of factors, from jobs, schools and broadband speed to culture, community spirit and local shops, in order to compile the definitive top locations to live.

The locations were selected for offering the best quality of life to the widest number of people.

Bridport, which also made the list back in 2016, was the only Dorset representative to feature alongside 10 other south west locations.

“Choosing the right location to put down roots is one of the most important decisions you'll make,” said Helen Davies, of The Sunday Times.

“Which is why we’re here to help - and what Best Places to Live in Britain is all about. There is much to celebrate, and Britain is scattered with thriving towns and villages, cool cities and suburbs, though people may be surprised how many traditional favourites haven’t made the cut in 2018.”
