We are celebrating the superb section of industry in our area with the 2019 Dorset Echo Industry Awards to highlight the many companies, across myriad sectors, which make such a huge contribution to our economy - we want you to tell us the businesses that make living in Dorset even better.

Dorset Echo:

The awards bring together the best of businesses in the DT postcode sector, recognising and showcasing their achievements.

There are innovative industries, both big and small, operating in fields from food to fashion, tourism to technology, employing thousands of people, exporting around the world or helping to attract visitors to our county and we aim to celebrate their achievements with these prestigious awards.

Businesses are welcome to nominate themselves. Or, anyone outside a business interested in its impact on the wider community and local economy can enter a nomination in any of the categories.

Once received the nominations will be considered by our judging panel.  The judges will be looking to announce the three finalists in each category in the Dorset Echo.  All three category finalists, plus one guest each, will be invited to join the overall sponsor Natwest, event sponsor Weymouth College and their category sponsors at the awards ceremony at Weymouth College on Thursday June 13, where the winners will be announced.

There are a wealth of businesses in Dorset operating in a wide variety of areas, all making a great contribution to our local economy.

At Weymouth College we believe passionately in the partnership between local students, local businesses and the wider economy.  We actively work with employers to ensure that the right training options are in place – for both school leavers and those currently in employment – to help grow the skilled local workforce of the future

We hope that in 2019 the Dorset Echo Industry awards will once again recognise the efforts and achievements of those local Dorset companies and enterprises similarly committed to working towards a successful, well-resourced and productive economic future for Dorset.
