In September 2016 The Weymouth Bid set out to form a steering group in order to prepare a Business Plan for Bid2. In October 2017 they suggested this Business Plan would be ready to present in March of this year.
As the ballot date of June 28 approaches, it is of some concern that the Business Plan has not been presented yet. From their website I see that the first Steering Group Meeting was in fact only in February of this year, some explanation is required.
If this Business Plan does ever appear I would expect it to comprehensively explain where the first £1.5million went. I can’t imagine a scenario where any company, whilst lobbying for a second investment of £1.5m, would not have to explain in great detail how they spent the first £1.5m.
I would also expect the Business Plan to set out how they intend to spend a further £1.5m.
At this year’s AGM, a ‘robust constitution’ and a ‘governance policy explaining full accountability’ were promised. These are also expected.
