Despite spring being largely soggy, we could be in for a mini heatwave next week.

Warmer weather is on its way as temperatures are set to increase.

The Met Office says it could feel around 20 degrees Celsius in Dorset by Wednesday due to a combination of largely dry weather and sunshine.

Sarah Kent, a Met Office meteorologist said: “Looking at next week, there is a general trend to warmer, more settled weather, with this most pronounced across much of England and Wales, however prior to this there is some unsettled weather over the weekend, especially for the western side of the UK.

“Focusing in on Dorset in particular, this weekend will see some mixed and sometimes breezy weather with a mix of sunshine and showers on Saturday, but with some rain at times on Sunday.

“Next week we should see largely dry weather across Dorset with bright or sunny periods and a warming trend on the temperatures. By Wednesday temperatures in parts of Dorset may reach the low twenties, and whilst for the rest of the week it should remain warm, by the time we reach the weekend there is an increasing chance of more changeable weather affecting parts of the west.”
