After soggy spring and yet another weekend of rain and also thick fog on Saturday, things are looking brighter for Dorset this week.
Forecasters are predicting a week of dry weather and steadily rising temperatures for the county, hitting the late teens Celsius by Wednesday or Thursday.
The forecast will come as welcome news for Dorset residents who, in common with the rest of the country, have endured notably unpleasant weather since the beginning of the year.
Two cold spells at the end of February and again in March saw widespread travel disruption as snow brought the county sliding to a halt, while rain has been a constant feature of the weather forecast.
The inclement weather has had adverse effects on everyone from farmers, who say they have been forced to delay their spring sowing season, to businesses, which have complained of low visitor numbers over the recent Easter break.
