Hi Readers

It’s just me, William, here this week because Emily isn’t well. I hope she gets well soon. It gives me a chance to write about football while she is away!

If you have been following this column over the last two years, you will know that I am a Dorchester football fan and that I volunteer at the club too. This means I go to all the home games, whatever the weather.

This year Dorchester have finished mid table again, slightly further up than last year. My view of the season is that when we have played well, we have been really good to watch. However there have been games where I could have held my head in my hands because Dorchester were playing so badly. However I am pleased with their performance overall and it is good to have finished mid table.

Since the season has finished, the pitch is being dug up and made into a 3G pitch – that’s a very good quality all weather pitch – and will be ready for next season. I think this will be better as they won’t have to postpone matches because of the weather affecting the grass.

Another nice thing about volunteering at the club is that we all get together for a buffet in the lounge bar, before the last game of the season. This was a lot of fun and I am getting a small trophy for helping there again this season.

Before I finish, I would like to say well done to Liverpool, getting to the final of the Champions League. I am looking forward to watching them play Real Madrid at the end of the month and hope Liverpool win!

Hopefully Emily will be back with us next week. Have a good week everyone!
