I am writing to express my gratitude to the staff of South Western Ambulance Service and DCH.

So many times we hear bad things in the press about our NHS but the care I received was second to none.

Three weeks ago I was taken very poorly with pneumonia and sepsis. The ambulance crew who were sent out via 111 were amazing, thoroughly checking me over and suggesting I went to A&E at Dorset County Hospital.

Upon arrival the department was extremely busy with me having to wait 20 minutes before going into a side room, though I was never left on my own with the ambulance crew waiting with me.

The staff in A&E could not have been nicer, making sure I was comfortable and well looked after. I was seen very promptly by the doctor and had a raft of tests, bloods and X-ray within a short space of time after arriving.

A bed was found for me on Hinton ward within an hour of me arriving in A&E. I spent two weeks on Hinton, under the care of Dr Graves and her respiratory team, being looked after by an excellent team of nurses and doctors.

I am now slowly on the mend thanks to their care and compassion. Once again I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone.
