It's a big happy birthday to musician Noddy Holder who celebrates his 72nd birthday on Friday. (15)

Noddy and his band Slade were regular visitors to Weymouth Pavilion in the 1960s where they would perform in the ballroom.

As Slade's singer Walsall-born Noddy was known for his stage personality and verve. Slade stopped performing in 1984 but did not split until 1991.

Noddy continued to perform music in the 1980s, and was given an MBE in 2000.

If you have memories and pictures of seeing top bands at Weymouth Pavilion, do get in touch the usual way.
