Normal service has resumed on the line between Weymouth and Dorchester West.
Trains had been delayed by up to 20 minutes as a result of signalling problems between Weymouth and Upwey station.
As a result of this problem trains were unable to travel in or out of Weymouth station and some lines were blocked.
All lines have since reopened and normal service has resumed.
A South Western Railway spokesman, said: "Earlier today we were made aware of a signalling problem between Weymouth and Upwey station.
"Network Rail engineers have now fixed the issue."
