April Lee has a valid point when she asks for separate toilets for men and women. We are designed differently and require different facilities.
Men are a lot quicker than women, for a start, given their style of trousers. Sitting down is a necessity with the majority of women, old or young. Using a seat that can be wringing wet is not our idea of a comfort station, and so it goes on, quite apart from the risk of being attacked in some circumstances.
Never the safest places, toilets can be really frightening at times, and at least in separate areas, women may feel a lot safer.
Attended facilities would be great, but that is a dream never going to come true.
