So the coast road (Jurassic Coast Highway) has been ruled out by just one vote.
Perhaps that one vote was that of Cllr Wheller, who considers it not to be a “proper” relief road and all it was likely to relieve was traffic through Wyke Regis.
This, plus the rest of her contribution, such as “there is still one road on and off the island”, plus getting from Wyke Regis to Ferrybridge three minutes quicker, identifies just how little she knows about the traffic situation in this area.
A local geography lesson also, may be of some help. She then may be aware that the journey on the coast road would be from Chickerell to Ferrybridge not from Wyke Regis where Ferrybridge is situated.
As for spoiling the local area, how can any area which contains, two Army camps, a weapons firing range and three holiday home sites (containing in excess of 1,000 mobile homes) be considered as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chesil Bank and the Fleet, yes, but the area beyond it most certainly not.
