Members of the public got an exclusive look at some of the latest car models on the market as the Dorset Echo's NEW REG exhibition returned.

Parking up on Weymouth Esplanade on Saturday, the exhibition showcased the latest cars money can buy - some of which are not even on the market yet.

Morgan Geake-Smith of the Dorset Echo promotions team said: "The exhibition is a great opportunity for local car dealerships to exhibit the newest models in their range. Every model on show here will be available on the new registration which comes out in September."

Showcasing at the event was Purbeck MG and the Lanehouse Group who showed off models of Suzuki and Vauxhall.

Also on display was a model of new, not yet on the market brand, Isuzu which is officially launching on September 10.

"For the public it's an opportunity to see a range of cars in just one place, instead of having to go from dealership to dealership," Miss Geake-Smith said.

She added they also got the opportunity to speak informally with dealers, look round all the cars and even book test drives.

"It's been a great event and people have been showing a lot of interest. There's a great buzz around it which is great to see considering the less than perfect weather," Miss Geake-Smith.

If you missed NEW REG, you can still grab the chance to see all the latest models as the exhibition will be heading to Dorchester's Brewery Square next Saturday (August 25.)
