Treasure Hunt was one of the greatest television shows of the 1980s.

And it was a treat to have the 'skyrunner' Anneka Rice in her jumpsuit racing against the clock to find directions to treasure from cryptic clues right here in Dorset in 1986.

Filming took place at various locations including the Tank Museum, Bovington, Athelhampton House near Dorchester and Corfe Castle.

At the start of each episode Anneka would tease the contestants as she describes her location while the helicopter circles around, filming her from the air.

For the introduction to the Dorset edition she said: "Well, Treasure Hunt has gone truly international and exotic this week. I'm standing there looking out to deep blue, blue seas, the surf crashing onto miles and miles of golden sand, studded with swaying palm trees, under the hot blazing tropical sun. Where else could I be but *Hawaii*?"

And presenter Kenneth Kendall said, very enthusiastically: "Hawaii?"

And Anneka said: "Or...Dorset! That's where we are."

The series Treasure Hunt ran from 1983 to 1989 and aired on Channel 4.

In this edition of Remember When, we also bring you a picture of crowds in Weymouth watching filming of The Goonies, Keith Chegwin greeting local children on Weymouth beach while filming Swap Shop and a picture of Stuart Hall filming It's a Knockout in Weymouth in 1982.

Also of interest is this image of short A Seaside Story being filmed at Lyme Regis in 1985 using the camera that shot the movie A Passage to India. It told the tale of two teenage lads on holiday by the briny.
