LATEST financial figures for the Dorset Councils Partnership show the three authorities on target to be £230,000 to the good at the end of the financial year.

Figures before councillors next week show that the combined revenue budgets of West Dorset, North Dorset and Weymouth and Portland councils are expected to have a surplus of just over £230,000 at the financial year end.

This figures represents a total variance of 2.4% against the 2018/19 budget requirement of £9,512,417.

Recent good weather which has helped the three councils boost car park income is said to be one of the factors which has helped the budget balance although the report to the West Dorset strategy committee on September 11 shows that the percentage of informal penalty charge notices responded to within 10 working days is currently not meeting the target.
