YOUR article on the never ending problem facing thousands of ordinary families needing a permanent home makes depressing reading.
Born here in 1942 I have witnessed the monumental errors made by past incumbents of Westminster which have resulted in this appalling situation.
This is a nationwide problem of course, but here in our beautiful, but economically deprived area, it is exacerbated by wealthy second home buyers of perfectly good family homes that should be occupied in perpetuity and not just the odd weekend.
Your article states there are 4,300 households looking to be housed in much of Dorset.
There are plenty of homes
They are just not permanently lived in. Use your reporting skills and find out just how many perfectly good family homes are empty for most of the year in the area your article covers. I look forward to reading the result.
