AS AN ardent dog lover, I have no problem with well controlled dogs being allowed off the lead in public places. However, to the owner of the dog which spoilt my midday swim at Overcombe on September 8, I say the following.
Your dog was completely out of control; you allowed it to urinate on and ruin my lovely canvas swimming bag, which was a cherished gift (naturally this then became a magnet for other dogs); you offered no apology.
Show some consideration for other people and get your dog properly trained.
