CAPTIVATING opera comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday (14) at 7pm.

Opera Holloway return with a fully staged, fresh new contemporary take on one of the most famous love stories of all time, Romeo and Juliet, as depicted by one of opera’s greatest composers, Bellini.

Director Fiona Williams moves the action to 1950s Naples; the stifling heat fans the flames of a budding romance. In this poor neighbourhood, controlled by the mafia, Romeo and Giulietta fight to unite their families and keep their relationship alive.

The cast features Sophie Dicks as Romeo and Callie Gaston as Giulietta, with a piano and string ensemble conducted by Lewis Gaston.
