WEYMOUTH Sailing Club’s annual Tender Race kick-started the Weymouth Regatta weekend.

The club was full of fancy dress, with entrants from the RNLI Lifeboat crew, Rowing Club, Sailing Club members and visiting yacht crew putting on a fantastic show with dressing of tenders to compete in racing across the harbour.

Winners of the Harbour Cup were brothers John and Pete Stow with their Happy Hippies tender. Meanwhile, the YOBs (youth on boats) trophy went to sisters Jo and Adele and kids with a ‘fish and chips’ themed tender.

Fancy dress runners-up were the Staples family with their Minions theme and the fancy dress trophy went to Gary Owens in his Venetian Gondola crewed by the ladies from Melges Mini Mayhem from Torbay who later won the Weymouth Regatta IRC Sportsboat Category.

The event finished with a BBQ and music on the decking at the Sailing Club until the sun went down.
