AROUND where I live, there are several families with pre-school children. The word ‘discipline’ does not seem to feature in their day-to-day lives.

The girls are allowed to scream, unchecked and the boys to roar like wild beasts. They seem to do this instead of speaking. If only the parents realised the trouble they are storing up for themselves and others as the children get bigger and then bad habits develop into serious anti-social behaviour.

Anyone would think parents are afraid of their children even while at this young age.
