Dorchester Community Church holds its farewell service at Acland Road tomorrow, Sunday, September 16 at 10am.

The church is moving to Poundbury on Monday and it will be open to the public from the first weekend in October.

The existing building in Acland Road has been in use as a church since 1904 but a current planning application from West Dorset District Council asks permission to demolish the building and surrounding walls and create 23 car parking spaces which will be in use until the whole Charles Street area is redeveloped – possibly with a covered market.

At the church's new home there will be a variety of what they are calling 'menu options' with three different 'main courses' or 'styles' of Church, being café church every Saturday at 10.30am, a contemporary style of Church with activities for kids on Sundays at 10.30am and then a more traditional service each Sunday evening at 6pm.
