Portland Town A team continued their unbeaten start in Division Four of the Dorset Football League with a steady 2-0 win against Tisbury at Budmouth.

Manager Richard Johnson was again without some key players with Captain Luke Atkins injured and vice captain Sam Course a late call up for the reserves following his form in the first two games, with this Joe Adkins stepping up to captain the side.

Early pressure saw Town with the majority of possession, creating chances for Elliot Gould and Liam Puckett.

It was Gould that set up a golden chance for Liam Diment to add to his two goals at Okeford but he shot wide with only the keeper to beat.

The pressure continued with a Puckett shot resulting in a corner, which Gould delivered and Edd Barber headed over.

As Tisbury continued with the long ball, keeper Dean Robinson whom was a late replacement in goal clear the lines. Although Town had more of the possession Robinson was kept busy throughout the first period.

Around the 25 minute mark Town had another corner in which Gould picked out Barber again who eventually dispatched his first league goal for the club after 101 appearances.

Going in at 1-0 up, Johnson brought on Connor Anstey to keep things fresh.

In the second half chances continued to come for Town but the share was more equal but a tight defensive line forward line who were offside a lot. The one chance that they were onside, Robinson fouled the player and was cautioned.

Later in the second half Tisbury pressed but again a flick from the free-kick left their centre back offside and the goal was ruled out.

Eventually Luke Moorley put the game to bed with 10 minutes to go after a fortunate through ball on the right-hand side from Diment to seal all three points.
