Weymouth has new plans to improve the leisure facilities by developing the peninsula.

This is about time too because currently all there is a cinema and a bowling alley which is very limited.

To improve the tourism of this small town, more leisure facilities would be fantastic, especially in the location that it is planned to be placed.

Not only that, but at the moment there is a limited supply of chain and well-known restaurants, so it would be good to have more.

The recent opening of the Slug and Lettuce was good, but I only see it as the beginning because I think that Weymouth is begging for more. More shops. More restaurants. More socialising facilities.

Therefore, I think a new leisure facility would be a brilliant opportunity for the town, and as the saying goes, an opportunity is like a train on the move - once its doors have closed, it’s gone - so Weymouth must take on all that it can to improve itself.

Dorchester has its Brewery Square and Poundbury. What has Weymouth got?

Well you could argue that it has got a good beach, which it has, but it needs more – something different.

One idea I believe could be put into the town is something unique, something that you cannot do many places else as this will attract more tourists and make the town more interesting.

However, a more traditional thing such as a small theme park could provide more to do in Weymouth.
