It's all change on the buses as a company cuts services in Weymouth and west Dorset ahead of the winter.

The changes, which come into effect today, reflect service usage during the winter season, say bus firm First.

It will see some services stop early, some Sunday buses stopping and some routes withdrawn completely.

A new route is being introduced in Bridport.

Here is a summary of the changes:

Route 1: Weymouth - Portland

The Monday to Friday daytime frequency will remain at every 12 minutes, the Saturday daytime frequency will also remain at every 15 minutes and the Sunday service will be reduced to run every 20 minutes.

Route 2: Weymouth - Littlemoor

The Monday to Friday daytime frequency will remain at every 12 minutes, the Saturday daytime frequency will run at every 15 minutes and the Sunday service will be reduced to run every 30 minutes.

Route 3 and 8: Weymouth – Westham/Chickerell

The half hourly service on Mondays to Saturdays will remain for the winter season, but late-night journeys will be withdrawn. The Sunday service will be withdrawn for the winter season until summer 2019.

Route 4: Weymouth - Preston

The Monday to Friday daytime frequency will remain at every 20 minutes with the last journey now being at 8pm, the Saturday daytime frequency will also remain at every 30 minutes with the last journey again finishing at 8pm. The Sunday service will be withdrawn for the winter season until summer 2019.

Route 4A: Weymouth - Sutton Poyntz

Route 4A will remain at three round trips on Monday to Friday only, with minor amendments to the timetable.

Route 6: Bridport - Beaminster

There will be very minor changes to the morning timetable.

Route 7: Bridport local service

New route. New service will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, linking: West Bay, Allington, Bridport Town Centre, Bradpole and Bothenhampton. This service will be operated with financial support from Bridport Town Council.

Route 10: Weymouth – Dorchester

The Monday to Friday daytime frequency will remain at every 15 minutes, the Saturday daytime frequency will also remain at every 30 minutes.

Jurassic Coaster X51 and X53: Dorchester/Weymouth – Bridport – Lyme – Regis - Axminster

Winter timetable introduced. Sunday service will return in the spring 2019.

Jurassic Coaster X54: Weymouth – Wool - Poole

This service will revert to four return journeys a day on Monday to Friday only. Certain journeys will continue to run via Lulworth.

Jurassic Coaster X55: Weymouth – Wool - Bovington

This service will be withdrawn for the winter period.

Open Top Routes 500 and 501

These services will be withdrawn for the winter period.

Routes 502 and 503

These services will continue until October/November 2018 and they will then be withdrawn for the winter period.
