SHIVERS comes to Shelley Theatre, an evening of ghost stories with a promise to be even scarier and more chilling than last year’s show.

Following on from last year's successful The Book Of Darkness & Light tour, performer Adam Z. Robinson and musician Ben Styles, return with three new eerie stories at Shelley Theatre on Friday October 12.

With the new tour on the horizon, we asked Adam what he is looking forward to most and what they learnt from last year.

“2017 was a very special year for Ben and myself. We visited theatres within the UK we had never been to before. The reception we received was fantastic, overwhelming even, so we decided to strike while the iron was hot and create a brand new set of ghost stories!

“We approached two theatres in Yorkshire to try out the new Shivers performance, it worked, so we are taking these new ghost stories to the next stage and getting back out on the road.”

Shivers comprises of The Storyteller (Adam) weaving three spellbinding tales as The Musician (Ben) creates an appropriately ghostly atmosphere with a specially composed violin score.

In ‘The New Priest of Black Pines’ a doctor visits a remote isle to treat her sick brother, only to

discover that ancient and barbaric rituals are still being practised. In ‘Dead Air’ a young man calls a late night radio station to disclose a family secret that has haunted him for a decade. In ‘A Horror in Porcelain’ a wealthy and eccentric millionaire sends his assistant to collect a notorious antique doll with a strange and horrifying history.

Adam looks at returning to Shelley Theatre with a huge sense of fondness. Adam commented, “Performing in Bournemouth was one of our highlights of the 2017 tour. The theatre just added to the sense of occasion. The high ceiling, the decor, the aged feel all made it a very special evening. This sense of gothic historical credence alongside the telling of ghost stories made this a perfect setting that I won’t forget.”

Adam shared a comment from one of the audience at Shelley Theatre. “We always ask for feedback from the audience and one of the comment cards said, ‘It brought back memories, before TV, of people gathered around the fire telling scary tales.’ This is exactly what Ben and I set out to do. We can’t wait to come back and share the new stories with everyone.”

Shivers is being performed in 33 theatres, from October until February 2019 with a bigger show and more surprises lined up.
