When I read the part of Richard Denton-White’s letter in the Echo (20/9/18) warning that the country might face food insecurity, in the event of a hard or no deal Brexit, I’m sorry, but I involuntarily laughed.
Does the UK not have the worst obesity problem in Europe, especially with the young? So, with the re-introduction of rationing, along with the exercise they will all get helping dad in digging up the lawn to plant vegetables, it has to be a win/win predicament all round?
Five years from now, the only Billy Bunters in the schools will be the butchers sons/daughters. Just as it was back in my school days during the forties and early fifties.
