Watching the road-running stage of the Ironman competition in Weymouth on Sunday, with early morning heavy rain supported by a chilly Dorset coastal wind, conditions were not exactly friendly or supportive for the participating athletes.
With at least three lady competitors well positioned in the leading group of runners, is it now becoming increasingly overdue for the race organisers, in respect of the so-called weaker sex, to consider re-naming and re-branding their sporting event?
Possibly IronChallenge or IronAthletes comes to mind? Well done all the Iron Maidens who completed the IronMan.
