It did what it said on the tin: “The Treaty of Union” was a binding agreement to create a joining together, a unification, a single entity!

This is what Margaret Thatcher signed and what was endorsed in two more treaties that stitched the UK into the EU: The European Union of states.

No wonder that we find it practically impossible to extricate ourselves from this political bondage. Cutting these ties and regaining the independence of our country will have financial and social repercussions and time alone may tell how well we cope with the inevitable consequences.

One can only wish those who are acting on our behalf can employ great wisdom, immense patience and resilience to the crescendo of criticism that rains down from all directions in the most destructive way.
