Oliver Letwin MP states in his column of today’s Echo (Sat 29/9/18), that in many parts of southern England house prices have moved ridiculously out of line with earnings.

He further states that no “sensible” government would want to precipitate a massive recession by building too many homes too quickly.

Surely, no “sensible” government would have allowed this disastrous situation to develop in the first place?

If you own your own home, do not lay awake at night
worrying about a sudden fall in value putting you into negative equity. Our local MP will restrict the rate at which much needed properties can be built, so ensuring you can sleep peacefully.

He then rambles on without giving any clear solution to ending the current housing crises effecting millions of UK citizens.

Is his muddled, indecisive thinking, not indicative of the current crop of Westminster incumbents, unable, or unwilling, to get on and build the homes that are desperately needed now, with a law in place stating they are to be occupied in perpetuity?
