A building company has celebrated the achievements of one of its site managers.

CG Fry & Son Ltd, based in Litton Cheney, has celebrated the news that one of its site managers has been crowned regional winner in the Medium Builder category in the third round of National House Building Council's (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards 2018.

Steve Walker received the award for his role in the Poundbury North East Quadrant development.

The awards, celebrating a 38th year, recognise and reward a site manager's dedication to achieving the highest standards in house building.

Steve has been involved with developing Poundbury since its conception in 1993, and over that time has won numerous NHBC Pride in the Job awards, twice scooping the National Supreme Award title.

Steve competed against 16 other site managers who received a Seal of Excellence Award in the second round of the competition, and was awarded the regional title at a ceremony held at The Passenger Shed in Bristol.

Steve said: "I feel very privileged to win the award again this year but it's a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the entire team at Poundbury."

CG Fry & Son's site manager, Aubrey Harris, also won at the Seal of Excellence Awards for his work at the Royal Pavilion, Poundbury.

Kevin Murch, construction director for CG Fry & Son, said: "Again, we are delighted with the results of the NHBC Pride in the Job Award.

"All the teams at CG Fry & Son work with dedication and commitment to deliver homes of the highest quality across the region. "Winning the Seal of Excellence awards and the regional award again is a testament to this hard work."

NHBC regional director, Nick Cunningham, said: "To reach this level of the competition means without question you are at the very top of the house building industry.

"Steve is building homes to an exceptional standard and is a worthy winner of the South West Regional Award in the Medium Builder category."

Steve will now go on to compete for the Supreme Award at a ceremony in January, 2019.
