A POP-up pizza fundraiser will help out a youth centre.

By grabbing a slice of the action at the Watch House, West Bay, next week, you’ll be helping Bridport Youth and Community Centre.

Owners Steve and Debs Attrill have offered use of their café for the evening.

On offer will be large fire-baked pizzas with a selection of toppings and a strip of raffle tickets.

Takeaway pizza and raffle tickets are also available if you want to eat at home.

All proceeds will go to the youth centre, which needs to fundraise regularly in order to maintain the wide range of activities it offers.

The young workers at the Watch House were delighted to help out.

Team member Morgan Barnes said: “I used to go to the youth club with friends when I was younger and it’s great to see it getting support.

“I’m excited to work at the event.”

The youth centre needs to raise funds as Dorset County Council withdrew its funding two years ago.

A trust was formed to ensure the centre remained a resource for the Bridport community, and donations and fundraising by the has enabled the centre to remain open and offer the rich range of activities to all members of the community.

As well as two weekly youth clubs, there are regular ‘health and wellbeing’ groups and a wide variety of other activities, including car mechanics, boxing and music sessions with B Sharp.

The members of the youth centre were recently asked what they thought of their sessions at the centre, with some saying it’s a place to turn to for help and advice and that the centre offers a nice place to socialise with friends.

The fundraiser will take place on Sunday, October 14, at the Watch House in West Bay from 6pm.
