Displaying an utter disregard for common sense somebody in the council has taken the decision to install new milestones on the cycle path between Dorchester and Weymouth.
Firstly they are hardly necessary in this digital age where almost everyone has access to maps via their mobile phone but someone may have decided that they are pretty and add something to the cyclists’ journey.
That being the case it made me wonder why the information is only on the Dorchester side of the milestones.
It may well be that in a sudden pang of guilt over the cost of these pointless blobs of concrete they decided that the price of putting a sign on both sides was prohibitive so why didn’t they just turn the milestones through 90 degrees so that they were visible from both directions?
I’m baffled.
